Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital is a hospital specializing in cancer treatments, rated by the Korea government as the ‘highest ranking nationwide public organization in customer satisfaction’. It is a national University hospital with 701 hospital beds and the only tertiary general hospital located in Jeollanam-do area.
Its achievements in cancer surgery per hospital bed is the highest in Korea and its competitiveness in surgery for the 6 major cancers is ranked ‘Top 5 in Korea’. The hospital has received the highest ranking for cancer treatments in each field every year and it has a high success rate in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation which requires high levels of technique. Its success rate is five times as high as that of other tertiary general hospitals in Korea.
The hospital is located in Hwasun, Jeollanam-do, nearby Gwangju Metropolitan City, a garden city containing many forests in Korea. Equipped with the ‘forest of healing’, it is the only environmentally friendly hospital where patients can relax their mind and body.
